Learn How Super Wax Works…
Based on the latest lubricant science driven by an endless passion for ski racing Super Wax One will redefine what you think is fast wax while simplifying how long it takes to care for your skis.
Super Wax One is built around a modern approach to ski glide based on surface science and tribology — the study of friction, lubrication, and interacting surfaces.
Rather than relying on a single wax layer, Super Wax One works through a multi-layer glide system that conditions the ski base, reduces friction during movement, and maintains glide across a wide range of snow conditions.
Each layer plays a different role in optimizing ski performance.
Layer 1 – Base Conditioning
At the foundation of the system is the base conditioning layer.
Modern ski bases are made from high-density polyethylene, a material that contains microscopic structures and pores created during manufacturing and base preparation. Over time, friction with snow crystals and environmental exposure can dry out the base and reduce its ability to glide efficiently.
The first layer of Super Wax One works to recondition and stabilize the base surface. This layer integrates with the microscopic structure of the ski base and restores lubrication to the surface, reducing microscopic drag while helping the ski maintain a consistent glide profile.
A properly conditioned base is the starting point for fast skis.
Layer 2 – Shear Glide Layer
Above the conditioning layer is the shear glide layer, which plays a critical role in friction reduction.
As a ski moves across snow, millions of microscopic contact points form between the ski base and snow crystals. These interactions create friction and energy loss that slow the ski down.
The shear layer is designed to create a stable low-friction interface between the ski base and the snow surface. This layer reduces resistance by allowing microscopic shear movement between the ski and snow crystals. By minimizing the energy lost during these interactions, the ski is able to maintain speed more efficiently.
The result is a smoother, faster glide across both dry winter snow and more abrasive transformed snow surfaces.
Layer 3 – Hydrophobic Glide Layer
The final layer functions as the hydrophobic glide layer, which becomes increasingly important as snow temperatures rise or humidity increases.
As skis move across snow, pressure and friction generate small amounts of meltwater beneath the ski. In certain conditions this thin water film can create suction between the ski base and the snow surface, slowing the ski. The hydrophobic glide layer works to manage this water interaction.
By reducing water adhesion and helping the ski release cleanly from the snow surface, this layer improves glide in warm, wet, or variable conditions. It also contributes to the wide performance window that allows Super Wax One to remain fast across changing snow temperatures.
A Wide Performance Window
Because these three glide mechanisms work together, Super Wax One performs effectively across a wide range of conditions. Proven fast in air temps ranging from 10 F to 56 F, our effective range is 0 F to >60F.
The conditioning layer supports consistent base performance, the shear layer reduces friction during movement, and the hydrophobic layer manages water interaction at the snow surface.
Together they create a balanced glide system capable of performing in:
cold winter snow
abrasive machine-made snow
transformed granular snow
warm spring conditions
This layered approach is what gives Super Wax One its unusually wide performance range.
Designed for the Modern Racing Era
Super Wax One was developed specifically for the modern fluoro-free racing environment.
Advances in lubricant science and material engineering have made it possible to achieve exceptional glide performance using modern hydrocarbon and synthetic systems without relying on older fluorinated technologies.
The result is a product that delivers race-level performance while remaining compatible with current racing regulations and evolving environmental standards.
Built for Speed. Designed for Simplicity.
Traditional race waxing often requires extensive equipment, multiple wax layers, and time-consuming preparation.
Super Wax One was designed to simplify ski maintenance process.
With a balanced glide system built directly into the formula, racers can quickly prepare skis and maintain consistent speed across changing conditions without complex waxing routines.
The goal is simple: faster skis, less preparation, and more time focused on racing.
At the end of the day it just works!

BLINK Alpine Ski & Race Wax products are developed and tested by those with multiple decades of ski racing experience. The Schaefer Family has been involved with Ski Area Operations and Competitive Ski Racing since the 1950’s. Super Wax One is being developed and tested by those with the experience need to back up the claim that Blink’s Super Wax line-up is either the FASTEST or One of the FASTEST Rub-on Universial Waxes available since CERA-F was launched by SWIX back in the late 1980’s.
Our goal is simple: “Develop the FASTEST ski wax without any unnecessary complexity.”
Why Racers Use Rub-On Wax
Traditional waxing can require significant time and equipment. Plus, repeated heating and cooling of the ski can degrade performance by breaking down the ski’s internal epoxy and materials. Super Wax One was designed to remove those barriers and protect the ski’s internal performance characteristics.
Benefits include:
No waxing iron required
No scrapers or brushes needed
Fast application between runs
Compact travel-friendly packaging
Super Wax One allows racers and coaches to keep skis fast anywhere on the mountain.
Application
We recommend using using nitrate gloves when applying, (1 set included with each purchase).
Clean ski of snow, water, or debris. Optional: If applying at home or in the shop, clean the ski using our base cleaning solvent. Brush ski to remove and open up the base.
Rub Super Wax One evenly onto the ski base. Very little goes a long way.
Spread across the running surface.
Massage into ski with included sponge. Use quick, narrow, circular pattern to massage the wax down into the ski’s base.
Ski or Race immediately. Optional: Apply 24 hours prior, allow to dry, for longer lasting performance.
